These form of work rules will allow you to assign payable hours to a pay item without requiring an employee to clock into any device/peripheral. The main use cases for these work rules are for:
- Salaried employees who do not clock in/out
- Employees taking complete days leave.
Limitations/Workarounds
- The time assigned is fixed to what the work rule will assign
- Multiple work rules required for varying daily employee payable hours
Eg. 7.5/7.6/8 hour days require a work rule per unique hour day - Should only be used for FULL days and not partial days.
- If an employee works on a day with this work rule assigned, the work rule will ignore any time worked and only assign the hours configured.
Requirements
- Existing Pay Items
Setting up your work rule
Lets create a work rule that will assign 7.6 hours to Annual Leave pay item.
You can interchange the Annual Leave pay item in this guide with any pay item you require. Just update the name and hours to reflect accordingly. Eg. Salary Hours, Personal Leave, Bereavement Leave etc
- Go to Settings
- Click on Work Rules
- Click Add Work Rule
- Name it accordingly, we will name it 'Annual Leave 7.6'
We've named this with the 7.6 in the case i have another group of employees who work 8 hour days and i will need to create another Annual Leave work rule that assigns 8 hours.
- Click Next until you get to the Pay items step of the work rule wizard
- Click Add
- Leave the top half as is but change the Assign Up to field to Assign
- Enter in the value 7.6
- Change the TO field to Annual Leave
- Click Done
- Click Next until you can Click Save
- Click Save
You have now created your work rule that can assign the hours set per day.
