Purging old data from your database ensures that the database can remain at a consistent and relevant state, not holding data from between 2+ years ago. This process can also improve database performance dependent on the amount of data being purged.
Note: The purged data can be accessed by going to the Archive folder inside your BundyPlus folder. Open the Backup file that has the most relevant date to the data you are trying to access.
Purging the Data
- (Optional) If your Company File (Access Database) is located on a network drive, it may be best to relocate it to the local machine temporarily.
- Open BundyPlus Studio
- Open the Company File
- Click on Application Settings
- Click Database Settings
- Click on Purge Historic Data Wizard
- Follow the Wizard Steps and typing a number between 2 and 5 when prompted as to how many years of data you would like to keep in the database.
Note: The minimum amount of data to purge is 2 years. - Complete the Purge of Old Data
- Close BundyPlus Studio
- Open the Access database directly on the local machine
- Compact and Repair the database (Database tools tab)
- (Optional) Move the database back to the network drive, replacing the older version.
