IMPORTANT NOTE: A member of your IT team or someone with knowledge of network connections is recommended to implement the configuration changes below.
BundyPlus is not responsible for any misconfigurations before or after following this guide
This form of connection is typically done as a last resort in cases where you are otherwise unable to connect to your time clock via normal means (Patched ethernet port/WiFi/Serial)
Requirements:
- Time Clock's IP Address
- See guides here on retrieving your IP Address
- Ethernet Cable
- Administrative privileges on the PC/Laptop
Notes: If your PC is connected via an ethernet cable, you will lose your internet connection unless you have other means of connecting to the internet.
Configure your PC/Laptop to communicate with your Time Clock
- Connect the ethernet cable directly from the Time Clock to the PC/Laptop
- Go to your Start Menu on your PC/Laptop
- Type Control and click on Control Panel
- Click on either one of the following - "View network status and tasks" or "Network and Sharing Center"
- Click on "Change Adapter Settings" on the left side panel
- Right-click and select properties on the icon that displays Ethernet with "Unidentified network" beneath it
If you do not have administrative privileges then you may see some errors. - Double-click on 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'
- Select the second option for 'Use the following IP address:'
- You will need to input an IP address that can be communicated with by your Time Clock
Example: Time Clock's IP address is 192.168.1.250 (BundyPlus Default)- Set the PC's IP Address anywhere between 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 except 192.168.1.250
- Change the Subnet to 255.255.255.0
- Click OK
- Click OK
Now your PC/Laptop and Time Clock are both on the same 'Network'. From here you can open ClockComms and talk to your Time Clock.
If you are still unable to communicate to your time clock, please call support on 03 9873 0355 and we will be able to assist.
Reconfigure your original network settings
- Repeat steps 1 to 7 above
- Select the first option to "Obtain IP Address Automatically"
- Click OK
- Click OK
